Inspired by the traditions of the Pacific Islands we have created an earring that combines some of the beautiful colors of seaweed and coral. Piniki means pink in Samoan and meamata means green, beautiful words that synthesize the elegance of two colors that match perfectly.

Artist

Joan Ayguadé Jarque

With a restless spirit, one could say that he resembles an inventor from the early twentieth century. He loves seeing the creative process of all the designs, and he doesn't hesitate to accept any challenge that is proposed. He trained at the Central Saint Martins (UAL) in London as a Product Designer, and once he finished his studies he founded his own laser cutting company, with which he did work for Lady Gaga, Wes Anderson, Puma and Coca Cola. Now he is totally dedicated to Materia Rica, a brand he created in 2015 together with Marta Chojnacka.

Marta Chojnacka

She grew up and trained in Poland, but soon moved to London, where she developed much of her artistic career. Her work is an example of her great passions: intense colours and the everyday life that surrounds her: plates of food, exotic plants, birds and other animals are some of the protagonists of her creations. Her favourite technique? Absolutely, gouache on paper. She now lives in Barcelona combining her artistic facet with the art direction of Materia Rica, created together with Joan Ayguadé.
