We are Marta and Joan. Our story began in London with an almost chance encounter. One conversation was enough to know that something meaningful had begun: we wanted to share a life together... and create a project with soul.
Marta brought the creative vision; Joan brought the ingenuity and technical know-how to turn ideas into reality. From that union came a shared purpose: to create designs that connect with emotion and with the identity of the person wearing them.
We moved to Barcelona to bring our project to life and open our studio and showroom. From here, we have built creative collaborations with international artists such as Gemma Bordes, Miriam Frank, Lisa Junius, Asis Percales and Casita de Wendy, among others, shaping jewellery, accessories and special projects that share a distinctive creative universe — as well as working with museums and cultural institutions.
And so Materia Rica was born: jewellery and accessories with intention, designed to accompany you in your everyday life and to tell, without words, a small part of who you are.
